My primary research is on ethnic divisions in Malawi (Africa). I am interested in integrating work on both misinformation and its polarizing effects into my ongoing research on ethnic politics in Malawi. In addition, I have also worked on polarization in the U.S. through an experiment (forthcoming at Political Behavior) on depolarization. Finally, I teach a course at Ohio State on democratic erosion that centers both polarization and misinformation.
