The majority of the work that I do focuses on the public's response to and perception of different protest actions. This includes whether factors like the protestor's race, protest tactics, prior agreement with the protestors, and protest topic affect general levels of support. The way that these events are reported on significantly affects the public's perception of support for them; these can include whether the report chooses to focus on the effects of the grievance being protested against and how it frames actions taken, to name a few.
